Recently the number of illnesses effecting the digestive system has sharply risen. Parallel to this has arisen the sorry question of misdiagnosis. In order to help our patients address this particular issue our clinic has created a special program entitled, ‘A Healthy Digestion’. Any full program of examination of the digestive organs must include the use of endoscopic diagnostic equipment. The method of examination to be used will be selected individually by the doctor as appropriate and depending on the patient’s symptoms. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGDS) provides an examination of the mucous membrane of the alimentary canal, the stomach and small intestine. The combination of a very highly qualified doctor and the latest equipment, make this an easy procedure for the patient. Sigmoidoscopy examines the mucous membrane of the colon and bowel. This method is essential to diagnosis of illness in these organs and also when there is pain in the rectum, bleeding or discharge and when there has been a problem with constipation or diarrhea or suspicion of a tumor. Recto-sigmoid colonoscopy examines the mucous membrane of the large intestines, the sigmoid and lower sections of the bowel and can be directed as appropriate when there is a need for a more detailed examination of these organs. Endoscopy is not only used to make a diagnosis. Any of these procedures may be used during treatment of these area, to stop bleeding, to eliminate a growth, tumor or polyp as required. | |
